Program: Practical AI Training for MSME Entrepreneurs
Overview
Kementerian UMKM, the Surakarta City Government, and BENAR Foundation collaborated to provide free access to AI technology for 100 MSMEs in Surakarta through the Practical AI Training for MSME Entrepreneurs program.
This collaborative initiative aims to help MSMEs optimize their business operations using AI technology, while accelerating digitalization and strengthening the competitiveness of micro-enterprises in Surakarta.
Activities
The workshop was designed to provide hands-on training on how AI can be applied to daily business operations, ranging from content creation and marketing to bookkeeping and market analysis.
During the workshop, participants were introduced to three core competencies highly relevant to their daily operational needs:
- AI for Digitalization and Financial Inclusion — helping MSMEs manage finances and bookkeeping automatically through Financewhiz, enabling faster and more efficient financial reporting while supporting more professional fund management.
- AI for Market Analysis and Business Strategy — enabling micro-entrepreneurs to analyze trends and market opportunities like large corporations through Smartwhiz, which provides market insights, including customer behavior analysis, to support better business decision-making.
- AI for MSME Branding and Marketing — allowing businesses to produce professional marketing content without agency costs using Createwhiz, enabling MSMEs to create promotional materials easily, from social media content to advertising assets, within a short time.
Through the MWX platform, all these capabilities are integrated into a single application specifically designed to be easy to use, even for entrepreneurs without a technological background.
Results
The MSME entrepreneurs who attended the workshop were able to implement AI technology in their daily business operations, from analyzing market trends and opportunities, producing professional marketing content efficiently and effectively, to managing finances and bookkeeping automatically.

Collaboration to Strengthen the MSME Ecosystem
This program reflects a strong synergy among various stakeholders committed to advancing Indonesian MSMEs. Kementerian UMKM, through the Juragan UMKM initiative, provided the national program framework, while the Surakarta City Government facilitated direct access to local MSME communities.
Meanwhile, BENAR Foundation, through the Ngaji Rasa Usaha program, ensured that AI technology was not only introduced but also effectively adopted and impactful for participants.
It is hoped that following this training, MSME entrepreneurs will be able to operate their businesses more quickly, effectively, efficiently, and automatically with the support of AI technology, ultimately contributing to long-term business growth and sustainability.
